STUDENTS OF COLOR ONLY GRADUATION HELD BY UNIVERSITY OF PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburg recently held a “special graduation ceremony to acknowledge and celebrate graduating students of color.” The Event was called “The Gathering.” The College Fix claims there was no public listing for the event.
The Office for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Vide Chancellor Clyde Pickett told the school’s student newspaper the event is “…a chance to build unity and community with one another. Ultimately, the success of our students is our most important priority, so I think any elevation and acknowledgement of our students that allows for space for cultural exchange, cultural identity and cultural awareness is a good thing.” GO DEEPER
