Students from John Jay High School, from the Wappingers Central School District, protested the district’s announced plans to allow students to choose which bathrooms they want to use. The students claim the decision makes many of them feel uncomfortable and unsafe. The protest involved students walking out of class and protesting outside of the school. A much-smaller counter protest met them, one mostly attended by adults. Blue Star Families’ recent survey reveals less than one-third of American military families would recommend the military as a career for others. The survey received 7,400 responses and is considered the “most comprehensive” survey of its kind. From the survey, “Likelihood to recommend military service is declining. David Benjamin Coots, 42, is being charged with third-degree rape, second-degree assault, tampering with a witness and five counts of violation of a court order. Coots is alleged to have forced abortion pills up a woman’s vagina while engaging in intercourse after learning earlier that she tested positive for pregnancy, and he was the father. Coots is a nurse who met the victim in his capacity as a nurse, which could lead to Coots losing his nursing license, in addition to facing potential jail time. According to court records, Coots and the victim first met when she went to his office in Jan. 2023, for an appointment at MultiCare in Gig Harbor. They became friends and then started dating in Sept. 2023 when Coots told her that he and his wife were getting a divorce. In Jan. 2024, the victim said she had taken multiple pregnancy tests that were positive. She said Coots was “overly supportive” when she told him about the pregnancy and said he would take care of everything. According to court documents, she told a deputy that she and Coots were having sex on Jan. 27 when he put his fingers into her farther and harder than normal, and that Coots was acting strangely afterward. She said after he left for the night, she noticed a pill fall from her vagina.
Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee has ruled that his decision to allow Fani Willis to continue to prosecute former President Donald Trump despite clear evidence of compromise with the lawfare assassin can be appealed. McAfee said in a brief “Certificate of Immediate Review” that he intends to “continue addressing the many other unrelated pending pretrial motions,” regardless of whether the appellate court agrees to take up the case. McAfee last week rejected a bid by Trump and his co-defendants to disqualify Willis and her office from prosecuting the case because of a romantic relationship she had with Wade, whom she hired as special prosecutor in November 2021. Pakistani forces battled separatists near the Chinese-owned port Gwadar, leading to the deaths of 9 separatists and 3 Pakistani soldiers. While the battle was going on, Chinese nationals continued to work in the port. The battle began after a suicide bomber blew himself and his vehicle up near the Gwadar Port Authority complex. The Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, claimed the attack was conducted by the Baluchistan Liberation Army.
